Smell problems after COVID-19: symptoms, uneven odor perception, and computer-based prediction

Updated

Abstract

Olfactory dysfunction (OD) is one of the most common symptoms of post-acute sequelae of COVID-19.

  • OD frequently occurs alongside cognitive and neuropsychiatric symptoms.
  • The study aimed to identify predictors of the severity of objective olfactory impairment.
  • Hedonic valence ratings were examined in patients with and without olfactory impairment.
  • The relationship between olfactory impairment severity and shifts in odor perception was investigated.
