Abstract
Postoperative outcomes among patients using GLP-1 receptor agonists were assessed under three different management protocols.
- Three protocols were compared: at least 2-week preoperative cessation and delayed resumption, preoperative cessation with early postoperative resumption, and short preoperative cessation with no postoperative resumption.
- The increasing use of GLP-1 receptor agonists for weight loss is leading to more patients seeking abdominoplasty.
- Evidence-based guidelines for managing these medications during surgery are currently lacking.
