Activating Pgk1 helps restore blood vessel metabolism to reduce aging and artery disease

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Terazosin reduced and in preclinical models through a Pgk1/Hsp90/Prdx1 antioxidant pathway.

Evidence

ApoE mice on a high-cholesterol diet and cultured primary HUVEC experiments showed reduced plaque size, vascular permeability, , and EC senescence after TZ treatment, independently of α1-AR signaling.

Caveat

The evidence is mainly mouse and cell-based, so the abstract does not show clinical efficacy for vascular aging, atherosclerosis, or broader cardiometabolic disease.
