Abstract
Pharmacotherapy for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease is evolving following the approval of resmetirom and semaglutide for selected adults.
- Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis are significant health concerns.
- The recent approval of resmetirom and semaglutide offers new treatment options specifically for adults with noncirrhotic steatohepatitis and F2-F3 fibrosis.
- Management of MASLD/MASH may also need to address related conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular risk, and kidney disease.
