Abstract

The expression level of the HcPDFR gene is higher during the 6th instar stage of larvae compared to other developmental stages.

  • HcPDFR gene shows significant rhythmic expression in the head under 16L:8D and 12L:12D photoperiods, but not under continuous light.
  • High expression of HcPDFR is observed in the testis relative to other tissues.
  • Silencing HcPDFR disrupts the timing of moulting in 5th instar larvae, causing it to occur earlier under specific light conditions.
  • Moulting loses its rhythmic pattern under continuous light conditions after HcPDFR interference.
  • Interference with HcPDFR results in decreased pupation rates and increased mortality rates.
