Abstract
The expression level of the HcPDFR gene is higher during the 6th instar stage of larvae compared to other developmental stages.
- HcPDFR gene shows significant rhythmic expression in the head under 16L:8D and 12L:12D photoperiods, but not under continuous light.
- High expression of HcPDFR is observed in the testis relative to other tissues.
- Silencing HcPDFR disrupts the timing of moulting in 5th instar larvae, causing it to occur earlier under specific light conditions.
- Moulting loses its rhythmic pattern under continuous light conditions after HcPDFR interference.
- Interference with HcPDFR results in decreased pupation rates and increased mortality rates.
