The rates of non-time-loss and time-loss game-related injuries were 2.1 and 0.6 per 1000 plays, respectively.

  • College football players experienced training-related injuries at rates of 26.0 non-time-loss and 7.1 time-loss injuries per 1000 hours.
  • Seniors and running backs had the highest injury risk during training.
  • Sophomores, juniors, and wide receivers faced the greatest injury risk during games.
