Fast detection of pig circovirus type 2 using combined DNA amplification and Cas12a-based sensing

Updated

Abstract

The RAA-Cas12a-based detection method for PCV2 achieves over 98% accuracy in clinical samples.

  • The method combines RAA-mediated isothermal amplification with Cas12a protein for nucleic acid detection.
  • It demonstrates higher sensitivity than LAMP-PCR, allowing for detection of much lower copies of PCV2.
  • The new method exhibits superior specificity compared to individual PCR, RPA, and LAMP-PCR techniques.
  • It offers significant time savings, particularly in DNA extraction steps, compared to conventional detection methods.
