Long-term aftereffects of Omicron COVID-19 in cancer patients

Among highly boosted patients with cancer, Omicron infection was not linked to a clear overall increase in long-COVID-compatible diagnoses, but hospitalization marked higher postacute risk.

Evidence

This retrospective population-based Singapore cohort compared 39,256 SARS-CoV-2-infected and 37,551 noninfected adult patients with cancer followed up to 300 days.

Caveat

Postacute symptoms showed only a modest signal that did not survive multiple-comparison adjustment, and claims rely on health care claims diagnoses and symptoms.
