How Adults with Obesity Stop, Restart, or Change Injectable Semaglutide and Tirzepatide Treatments

Updated

Abstract

Patterns of discontinuation and reinitiation of subcutaneous semaglutide and tirzepatide were examined in adults with obesity but without diabetes.

  • Discontinuation and reinitiation patterns of GLP-1 receptor agonists in non-diabetic adults with obesity are not well characterized.
  • The study focuses on real-world usage of semaglutide and tirzepatide in an academic medical center.
  • Transitions between semaglutide and tirzepatide, as well as switches to first-generation antiobesity medications, were also evaluated.
