The overall prevalence of (NES) among medical students was 7.3%.

  • 13.7% of medical students were identified as obese.
  • Depression was prevalent in 53.0% of the participants.
  • Being a second-year medical student was significantly associated with depression (odds ratio 3.53).
  • The presence of depression was the only independent factor associated with NES (odds ratio 4.4).
  • These findings highlight the connection between mental health issues and NES among medical students.
