Protein patterns linked to different signs of aging

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Large-scale plasma proteomics linked inflammatory and senescence-related proteins to multiple aging phenotypes.

Evidence

This UK Biobank multi-omics analysis of 48,728 participants measured 2,920 plasma proteins, used Mendelian randomization with FinnGen replication, phenotypic association testing, and bioinformatic drug-target analyses.

Caveat

Many protein-aging links were phenotypic associations, and only subsets of the Mendelian randomization signals replicated, so biomarker and target claims remain partly inferential.
