How Taking Blood Pressure Medicine in the Morning or Evening Affects 24-Hour Blood Pressure

Updated

Abstract

In a trial with 103 patients, the timing of antihypertensive drug administration did not affect mean 24-hour blood pressure levels.

  • No significant difference was observed in mean 24-hour systolic and diastolic blood pressures between morning and evening dosing.
  • Blood pressure levels during the day and night were similar regardless of dosing time.
  • Clinic blood pressure measurements showed no differential impact based on whether medication was taken in the morning or evening.
  • Age and sex stratification did not influence the results of blood pressure measurements.
