Abstract

The RPA-CRISPR/Cas12a assay detects Lawsonia intracellularis in one hour with 100% concordance with qPCR results.

  • Lawsonia intracellularis is linked to porcine proliferative enteropathy, leading to diarrhea and poor growth in pigs.
  • Current detection methods lack the sensitivity and speed required for effective management of infections.
  • The new assay offers significant advantages in sensitivity and accuracy over existing techniques.
  • It shows no cross-reactivity with other common swine pathogens.
