Reliability and Accuracy of the Simple Qi Deficiency Score in People with Long COVID

Updated

Abstract

A total of 237 patients were assessed for Qi deficiency related to long COVID using a newly developed scoring system.

  • The simple Qi deficiency score ranges from 0 to 56 and is based on eight items reflecting traditional diagnostic criteria.
  • Internal consistency of the score was modest, with values of 0.64 and 0.63 for different reliability measures.
  • Exploratory Factor Analysis identified key factors representing symptoms associated with Qi deficiency.
  • Confirmatory Factor Analysis supported a one-factor model for the score, indicating its structural validity.
  • The score showed a strong positive correlation with the Fatigue Assessment Scale and a moderate correlation with the Self-rating Depression Scale.
  • A significant negative correlation was found between the Qi deficiency score and Quality of Life metrics.
