Essence

A 3-month resistance exercise program improved walking capacity and several health measures after COVID-19 infection.

Evidence

This multicenter randomized clinical trial in 233 adults found a 36.5 m greater shuttle-walk improvement versus usual care, along with better quality of life, mood, and grip strength at 3 months.

Caveat

The trial was short term and had follow-up attrition, with 193 of 233 participants completing the 3-month walk test.
