REV-ERBα activates the mTOR pathway and helps muscle cells mature

Updated

Abstract

REV-ERBα promotes myoblast differentiation by activating mTORC1 signaling.

  • REV-ERBα is involved in the differentiation of C2C12 myoblasts into myotubes.
  • Both mTOR and myogenin levels increase during myoblast differentiation.
  • REV-ERBα activates mTORC1 even without differentiation medium.
  • This activation may occur through reducing TSC1 expression, which inhibits mTORC1.
  • Modulating REV-ERBα could influence myoblast differentiation via mTORC1 signaling.
