Semaglutide's effects on thinking and memory in people with HIV

Updated

Abstract

In a trial involving 108 participants, semaglutide was associated with significant improvements in cognitive function scores, particularly in visuospatial abilities.

  • Participants receiving semaglutide showed enhanced visuospatial, naming/language, and delayed recall scores compared to those on placebo.
  • After adjustments, only the improvement in visuospatial scores remained statistically significant.
  • Semaglutide's positive effect on visuospatial scores persisted even after accounting for changes in certain inflammatory markers.
