  • Senolytics are pharmacological agents that can selectively eliminate senescent cells and have shown preclinical efficacy in reducing plaque area and improving plaque stability.
  • Senomorphics can reduce the expression of harmful factors secreted by senescent cells and may be suitable for long-term use.
  • There are notable gaps in understanding patient selection, dosing, and long-term safety for these therapies in older cardiovascular patients.
