Essence

SIRT7 inhibition may make pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors more radiosensitive by restoring MEN1 and weakening DNA double-strand break repair.

Evidence

A preclinical mechanistic study combined an epigenetic CRISPR screen, PanNET tissue correlations, patient-derived organoids, and xenograft models of SIRT7 inhibition with radiation.

Caveat

The evidence is preclinical, and tissue correlations plus organoid and xenograft responses do not establish radiotherapy benefit in patients.
