How Sleep Patterns Impact Work Productivity in Japanese Employees

Essence

Smartphone-measured sleep duration, quality, timing, and regularity were linked to work productivity loss in Japanese employees.

Evidence

A real-world observational analysis of 79,048 working adults in Japan used over 2.1 million nights of smartphone sleep data collected across 28 days and identified five sleep phenotypes.

Caveat

The study shows associations with rather than proof that changing smartphone-measured sleep patterns would improve productivity.
