Testing timed temozolomide treatment based on body clock in brain tumor patients

Updated

Abstract

A total of 35 evaluable patients with gliomas were analyzed for the feasibility of timed delivery of temozolomide (TMZ).

  • Patients were randomized to receive TMZ either in the morning before 10 am or in the evening after 8 pm.
  • Compliance with the timed dosing of TMZ was demonstrated.
  • There were no significant differences in adverse events between morning and evening dosing.
  • Quality of life measures showed no significant differences between the two treatment groups.
  • Overall survival rates did not differ significantly between the morning and evening administration.
