Tirzepatide (TZP) may have metabolic and anti-inflammatory effects relevant to COPD and type 2 diabetes (T2D).

  • COPD and T2D often coexist and may share similar inflammatory and metabolic pathways.
  • Tirzepatide is a dual receptor agonist that targets specific hormonal pathways related to glucose regulation.
  • The effects of tirzepatide on lung health in patients with both COPD and T2D are currently not well understood.
