Real-World Use of Tirzepatide to Help Lifestyle Changes in People with Metabolic Syndrome

Updated

Abstract

In a one-year follow-up of 118 metabolic syndrome patients, significant reductions in body weight and various health indices were observed.

  • Patients receiving tirzepatide combined with dietary education showed a significant decrease in glucose levels compared to those who only received dietary education.
  • Both groups experienced reductions in body weight, waist circumference, and indices such as Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR), and Body Roundness Index (BRI).
  • An increase in LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels was noted in both groups.
  • Quality of life improvements were significant in the mental health domain for the tirzepatide plus diet group.
  • No significant differences in energy intake or nutrient density were found between the two groups.
