Understanding Tryptophan's Role in Obesity

Updated

Abstract

Obesity is a widespread health issue linked to ongoing inflammation and various metabolic problems like insulin resistance and diabetes. Researchers are increasingly looking at how amino acids, especially tryptophan, affect metabolism. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid involved in several important biological processes. Recent studies show that people with obesity have different levels of tryptophan metabolites and enzymes, which can impact their mood and overall health. This review explores how tryptophan metabolism works and discusses its potential as a new treatment approach for obesity and related health issues.
