Abstract

The average ultra-processed food (UPF) energy ratio in the surveyed patients was 29.7%.

  • Approximately 75% of the patients were older than 65 years.
  • The high-UPF group had a greater total energy intake compared to the low-UPF group.
  • Protein intake, dietary fiber, and various vitamins and minerals were significantly lower in the high-UPF group.
  • The high-UPF group exhibited a higher body mass index (BMI).
  • The odds ratio for obesity was 4.51 in the high-UPF group compared to the low-UPF group.
