Long COVID in Young People in Victoria, Australia: How Common It Is, Its Effects, and Related Factors

Essence

Suspected long COVID was common among surveyed Victorian young people and was linked to worse health and daily functioning.

Evidence

A cross-sectional online survey of 765 people aged 15-29 years in Victoria found 11.2% reported long COVID and used multivariable logistic regression against acute COVID-19 reporters.

Caveat

Long COVID was self-reported, only 1 in 10 had a medical diagnosis, and the online cross-sectional design cannot establish causality.
