Urine metabolite changes linked to Huangqi Jianzhong Tang treatment in rats with chronic stomach lining loss

Updated

Abstract

Thirty-two urine metabolites were significantly regulated by Huangqi Jianzhong Tang (HQJZ) treatment in chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) rats.

  • Nineteen and 16 potential biomarkers related to CAG were identified through nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry, respectively.
  • The regulatory effect of HQJZ on urinary metabolism disorders was comparable to the positive drug teprenone.
  • Three metabolic pathways—valine, leucine and isoleucine metabolism, TCA cycle, and glycine, serine and threonine metabolism—were found to be most relevant to HQJZ treatment.
  • The main mechanism of HQJZ may involve energy balance, inflammatory inhibition, immune system improvement, and reduction of oxidative stress.
