How vaccination relates to COVID-19 infections and long-term symptoms in China

Abstract

Essence

In this Chinese survey, booster vaccination was linked to fewer selected COVID-19 symptoms, while vaccination more than 12 months prior was linked to fatigue and headache-dizziness lasting over one month.

Evidence

Cross-sectional analysis of 6,572 YC-CALS participants in March 2023 assessed vaccination status, reported SARS-CoV-2 infection, acute symptoms, hospitalization, and longer-term symptoms.

Caveat

Because the data are cross-sectional and survey-based, the vaccination timing and symptom associations cannot establish causal protection or waning.
