How Well Wearable AI Detects Stress in Students

A meta-analysis indicates a pooled mean accuracy of 0.856 for wearable AI in detecting stress among students.

  • 19 out of 327 studies reviewed were included in the analysis, representing 5.8% of the total.
  • Subgroup analyses revealed that accuracy is influenced by factors such as the number of stress classes and type of wearable device.
  • Average sensitivity, specificity, and F-score were 0.755, 0.744, and 0.759, respectively.
  • Current performance of wearable AI in stress detection among students is considered suboptimal.
  • Future research should focus on differentiating types of stress and predicting future stress occurrences.
