  • Gallstones and alcohol are the most prevalent causes of AP.
  • Medications may also trigger acute pancreatitis, complicating diagnosis.
  • Drug-induced acute pancreatitis (DIAP) can be particularly challenging when no clear cause is identified.
  • Rare medication-induced causes, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, warrant attention in clinical practice.
