  • Confidence in cooking 10 different foods is associated with a reduction in UPF consumption.
  • The ability to bake cakes or biscuits independently is linked to lower intake of UPF.
  • Cooking a main meal five or more days a week is associated with reduced energy intake from UPF.
  • Better home food preparation skills may contribute to decreased reliance on UPF in adults.
