AMP1-1 administration significantly improved cognitive performance in weightlessness-induced cognitive impairment.

  • Cognitive function was assessed using behavioral tests in a rat model simulating microgravity.
  • AMP1-1 inhibited neuroinflammation and enhanced the integrity of intestinal and blood-brain barriers.
  • The treatment reshaped gut microbiota composition and elevated fecal butyrate levels.
  • A reduction in systemic lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was observed following AMP1-1 treatment.
  • Fecal microbiota transplantation from AMP1-1-treated donors replicated cognitive and barrier-protective effects.
  • Butyrate supplementation alleviated neuroinflammation and cognitive deficits in the suspended rats.
