Abstract
A systematic review and network meta-analysis was conducted to compare cardiovascular efficacy in patients with type 2 diabetes and a history of myocardial infarction.
- Patients with type 2 diabetes and a history of myocardial infarction have a high risk of recurrent cardiovascular events.
- Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) are associated with reduced cardiovascular risk.
- Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) may also reduce cardiovascular risk.
- No direct head-to-head trials have been conducted to compare the cardiovascular efficacy of SGLT2i and GLP-1 RAs.
