Chemerin-triggered actions of CMKLR1 are controlled by GRK6 and β-arrestin 2 in inflammation-related immune cells

Updated

Abstract

Activation of the CMKLR1 receptor by chemerin in primary macrophages is regulated by GRK6 and β-arrestin 2.

  • GRK6 and β-arrestin 2 are implicated in the signaling and functional outcomes of CMKLR1 activation in macrophages.
  • Co-expression of GRK6 enhances the recruitment of arrestin to CMKLR1 after chemerin stimulation.
  • Internalization of CMKLR1 in response to chemerin is reduced in inflammatory macrophages lacking GRK6 and β-arrestin 2.
  • Macrophages deficient in GRK6 and β-arrestin 2 show increased migration towards chemerin.
  • Alterations in AKT and Extracellular-signal Related Kinase (ERK) signaling are observed in GRK6- and β-arrestin 2-deficient macrophages.
