Abstract

Significant differences in circadian temperature rhythm were found between clockwise and counter-clockwise shift schedules.

  • The counter-clockwise shift schedule is associated with an attenuation of temperature amplitude.
  • A delay in the peak temperature timing (acrophase) was observed in the counter-clockwise condition.
  • The clockwise schedule allowed for longer recovery periods, which may contribute to better circadian alignment.
  • The unique structure of the counter-clockwise shifts, including shorter breaks, could explain the observed disruptions in circadian rhythms.
