Abstract

38% of Parkinson's disease patients experienced probable REM sleep behavior disorder (pRBD).

  • Excessive daytime sleepiness was reported in 29% of the patients.
  • pRBD showed no association with the duration or severity of Parkinson's disease.
  • Patients with pRBD reported more cognitive problems compared to those without it.
  • There was a trend indicating more autonomic dysfunction in patients with pRBD.
  • Nocturia and sleep fragmentation were the most common sleep problems among the patients.
