Abstract
Patients affected by both Binge Eating Disorder (BED) and Night Eating Syndrome (NES) scored significantly higher on the Self Rating Anxiety Scale.
- Nocturnal eating is associated with increased nocturnal anxiety in NES patients.
- Among BED patients, nocturnal eating is linked to elevated diurnal anxiety.
- Correlations were found between anxiety scores and nocturnal eating behavior in both patient groups.
- These findings suggest that BED and NES may operate through different mechanisms despite sharing symptoms of overeating.
