Total daily energy expenditure was 43.6 ± 3.1 Kcal·kg body mass.

  • Energy intake was similar to expenditure, at 39.9 ± 9.4 Kcal·kg body mass.
  • Carbohydrate intake was significantly below recommendations on all tournament days, particularly on Day 2.
  • Protein and fat intakes met current dietary recommendations across the tournament days.
  • Saturated fat intake exceeded the recommended limit on Days 1-3.
  • Maintaining energy balance was observed on average among players.
  • Insufficient carbohydrate intake may be linked to reduced high-intensity running performance on Day 3.
