Improved mRNA vaccine with immune checkpoint therapy better stops tumor growth and spread

Updated

Abstract

Essence

A mannose-functionalized mRNA tumor vaccine plus anti-PD-1 strongly suppressed tumor growth and metastasis in a preclinical model.

Evidence

This preclinical formulation and combination-therapy study tested MRLNP/mOVA with anti-PD-1 in the B16F10-OVA subcutaneous tumor model, reporting 93.5% tumor suppression and protection against lung metastasis after rechallenge.

Caveat

The evidence is limited to tumor-model and rechallenge experiments, with no human efficacy or safety data in the abstract.
