About one-half of total gibberellin-regulated genes may be regulated in a DELLA-dependent fashion.

  • GA-deficient mutant ga1-3 fails to germinate and has impaired floral development.
  • The ga1-3 gai-t6 rga-t2 rgl1-1 rgl2-1 mutant exhibits GA-independent seed germination and floral development.
  • There is a possibility of DELLA-independent or partially-dependent components in GA-dependent gene regulation.
  • GA-regulated DELLA-dependent gene expression patterns in seeds and flower buds appear to be distinct.
  • DELLAs may regulate different individual genes within the same family to facilitate similar biochemical pathways in seeds and flowers.
  • Distinct pathways are controlled by DELLAs for specific genes in seeds and flower buds, reflecting different developmental processes.
