Gibberellin receptor GID1A plays a major role in fruit-set and growth in Arabidopsis.

  • GID1A is expressed throughout the whole pistil, while GID1B is specific to ovules and GID1C is found in valves.
  • Functional studies indicate that GID1A is crucial for fruit-set and growth, whereas GID1B and GID1C have distinct roles in seed development and pod elongation.
  • In ovules, GA perception is mediated by both GID1A and GID1B, with GID1A and GID1C involved in perception in valves.
