Ovariectomized female Wistar rats receiving semaglutide and exercise showed lower body weight and improved metabolic parameters.

  • Menopause in rats led to increased body weight and metabolic disturbances, including dyslipidemia and insulin resistance.
  • Groups treated with semaglutide exhibited reduced body weight, lower triglycerides, and improved glucose metabolism.
  • Exercise alone decreased total and LDL cholesterol levels while increasing glycogen in the liver and muscles.
  • The combination of semaglutide and exercise enhanced glycogen content and increased AMPK expression in muscle and liver tissues.
  • Combined treatment resulted in reduced HDL levels and decreased relative subcutaneous fat mass.
