Abstract
Pulmonary hypertension frequently coexists with type 2 diabetes, obesity, and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
- Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists and dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists have been shown to improve several cardiometabolic conditions.
- These agents may have anti-inflammatory and vascular effects.
- It is currently unknown if GLP-1 receptor agonists directly affect pulmonary blood flow or clinical outcomes in pulmonary hypertension.
