Abstract

GLP-1 RA users had a significantly lower incidence of dialysis initiation and major adverse cardiovascular events compared to nonusers.

  • In a cohort of 51,910 matched pairs, GLP-1 RA users had a hazard ratio of 0.89 for dialysis initiation.
  • The incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events was also lower in GLP-1 RA users, with a hazard ratio of 0.92.
  • Mortality rates among GLP-1 RA users were significantly reduced, demonstrated by a hazard ratio of 0.81.
  • Consistent cardiovascular benefits were observed across various subgroups and sensitivity analyses.
