GLP-1 receptor agonists reduced the risk of cardiovascular events in 63,613 high-risk patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

  • The primary composite outcome risk was reduced by 14% (HR: 0.86).
  • Cardiovascular death risk decreased by 15% (HR: 0.85).
  • All-cause death risk was lowered by 13% (HR: 0.87).
  • Myocardial infarction risk showed a 10% reduction (HR: 0.90).
  • Stroke risk was reduced by 15% (HR: 0.85).
  • Heart failure hospitalization risk decreased by 10% (HR: 0.90).
  • No significant difference in unstable angina hospitalization was found (HR: 1.04).
