Abstract

GLP-1 receptor agonists significantly reduce total body weight by an average of 3.55 kg.

  • GLP-1 receptor agonists reduce fat mass by an average of 2.95 kg.
  • Lean mass loss averages 0.86 kg, accounting for approximately 25% of total weight loss.
  • Relative lean mass percentage change from baseline remains unaffected by GLP-1 receptor agonists.
  • Liraglutide is noted for achieving significant weight reduction while preserving lean mass.
  • Tirzepatide and semaglutide, while effective for weight and fat loss, show a greater reduction in lean mass.
