Abstract
A systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the use of incretin receptor agonists in patients after metabolic bariatric surgery.
- Metabolic bariatric surgery is effective for weight loss, but some patients do not achieve optimal results.
- Patients may experience insufficient weight loss or regain weight after initial loss following surgery.
- Incretin receptor agonists, including liraglutide, semaglutide, and tirzepatide, could be a treatment option for these patients.
- The review aims to consolidate the best available data on these pharmacotherapies in this population.
