Abstract

A single subcutaneous injection of Suba@T-gel enabled sustained release of Suba for over three weeks.

  • Sustained release of the drug is facilitated by moderate interactions between Suba and the polymer, as well as the large molecular size of Suba.
  • In diabetic mouse models, a single dose of Suba@T-gel maintained stable blood sugar levels for three weeks.
  • Continuous release of Suba enhanced insulin secretion and reduced glycosylated hemoglobin levels.
  • The system improved pancreatic function and ameliorated diabetes-related complications by enhancing lipid metabolism and reversing liver fat accumulation.
  • An increase in nerve fiber density was observed in treated diabetic mice.
