Mazdutide significantly improved cognitive performance in male db/db mice compared to dulaglutide.

  • Cognitive impairment and dementia are linked to obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
  • Mazdutide is a dual agonist that targets both the GLP-1 receptor and the glucagon receptor.
  • In addition to lowering blood glucose and body weight, mazdutide may enhance cognitive function.
  • Pathological assessments showed improved neuronal structure and brain tissue integrity in mice treated with mazdutide.
  • Multi-omics analyses revealed unique molecular pathways related to neuroprotection and energy metabolism associated with mazdutide.
