Links between metabolic syndrome factors and gene variations related to fat regulation and appetite

Updated

Abstract

A statistically significant relationship was found between the A/A genotype of the rs9939609 polymorphism and glycemia in women aged 45-60.

  • The A/A genotype is associated with an increased risk of hyperglycemia.
  • A trend towards significance was observed for the C/G genotype, which could be linked to hypertriglyceridemia.
  • The C/C genotype is statistically associated with an increase in blood pressure.
  • Genetic predisposition may play a role in MetS-related abnormalities, though not all associations are clearly demonstrated.
